Finish it and you will tell which part of thinking is following a procedure, which a crank can do; which part is finding a checkable answer among finitely many candidates, which a crank can always do by trying them all, though nobody knows whether it can find as fast as it can check; and which part is choosing where to start. You will know why a quick check does not mean a quick find, and you will know at least one question proved to have no procedure that answers it every time, whether a person or a machine follows it. If it tires you, the book has failed you.
